Platform · Running the dayThe shift should not depend on who is on
Most venues run on a printed sheet, a group chat and whatever the person who opened yesterday remembers. It works until it does not, and it always fails on your busiest day.
The shift, step by step
- Opening
Every session for the shift, in order, with who is booked and anything you need to know before they walk in. Birthdays. Access requirements. The group that rang to say they will be twenty minutes late.
It updates as bookings change. Nobody is working off a sheet printed at nine in the morning.
- Waivers
The link goes out with the confirmation. People sign at home, on their phone, days earlier.
So check-in is a name being ticked off rather than eight people crowding your front desk with a clipboard while their session eats itself. Anyone who did not sign can do it there, but most already have.
Minors and guardians handled properly, kept securely, and cleared out when they are meant to be.
- Notes
Notes attached to the session itself. What this group booked, what to mention, what went wrong last time this experience ran.
New staff get what the person who has been there four years knows, without having to ask them.
- End of session
At the end of the session, in about fifteen seconds. Did they finish. How long it took. How many actually turned up.
Do that for a year and you know which experiences people complete, which ones are too hard, and what your real no-show rate is. Nobody reconstructs it on Monday from memory.
A session is a room, a lane, a bay or a table
None of it assumes you run one particular thing. The same shift view works for a room being reset, a lane being cleaned or a table being turned.
